NewtGrocery

This application is to help you manage your grocery more effectively, and more quickly. The application has been optimized to be used even in the store, while you're shopping. Easy access to the needed functionalities lets you retrieve all the products you want and compare prices among similar products or products of different formats. This application is currently free. You can find more information and download the final version here. You can download the entire Macintosh version of the Newton Toolkit project here.

GeekSafe

I just released a new version of GeekSafe for the Newton platform. This application is to help you manage the numerous identification numbers, passwords, PINs and the registration numbers that are now part of our lives. This application was originally written by Michael Pohl of Newtopia. This application is free. You can find more information and download the final version here. The Newton Toolkit project can be downloaded here.

DragNDrop GeekSafe

I just released a new utility that can be used along with GeekSafe. This is an extension that, when installed, lets you drag and drop a block of text containing GeekSafe information. Upon dropping the text, the extension will try to parse the text and will create GeekSafe entries automatically. Since you can now export GeekSafe entries in Notepad entries, this is very handy if you ever need to reload some information. The Newton Toolkit project is available for download here.

Newton Development

I just setup this section to easily provide links to some documents I collected over the time and that I want to make available to the people interested in developing for the Newton. You can come back from time to time to see if I've had the time to upload new documents. However, except for the Programming for the Newton Using Mac document, most other technical references and guides can be found in the download section of Planet Newton, so check it out!

Books

Programming for the Newton Using Macintosh

This book is an HTML version of the one that was published a few years ago and was written by Julie McKeehan and Neil Rhodes. It's an excellent introduction to the programmation on the Newton and I strongly recommend it to anyone who is seriously considering programming on the Newton. Don't let the title of the book misleads you. Even if it says using Macintosh, anyone programming on a Windows-based computer will greatly benefit from the book. The only 2 sections that relate to the Macintosh are the ones that talk about installing NTK and referencing NTK. But, since both the Macintosh version and the Windows version are very similar, this information would still be useful to a Windows-based developer.
Everything is there, except the QuickTime movies explaining basic operations in NTK. I thought that someone smart enough to program on the Newton wouldn't need to watch silly movies. The project files and the source code are provided. Note: I don't provide this document anymore due to its important size. It can certainly be found on UNNA, in the development section.
