GeekSafe is the perfect helper to remember all those user IDs, passwords, registration numbers, PINs and the like that are now part of our digital lives. GeekSafe was originally written by Michael Pohl of Newtopia. I did modify the application so that on a MessagePad 2000, 2100 or an eMate, the application will use the entire screen. Naturally, if you want to use it like it was originally written, there is a new preference that lets you decide whether you want it to use the full screen or not. The other important modification I did was adding an export function. Now, when in overview and when at least one item is selected, you have a new item in the "routing" menu (the one with a little enveloppe image on it, on the bottom right). This export function will create a new note in the notepad with the current selection in the Overview. A maximum of 50 items are exported in a note, so if you have selected more than 50, then additional notes will be created. Here are some screenshots to let you see what it can do:

This is the overview. From this screen, you have access to the information that will let you find all those passwords and user IDs quickly!

This is the detail view. This view lets you modify all the various attributes of a given item. The eyes in the eyeglasses button will let you toggle the safe mode, where all information is replaced with XXXXXXX, for obvious reasons...

This is the preferences panel. You can enter a PIN there so that the PIN is required to open the application. You can also select which font will be use in the editor. You can also decide that every new item will be stored in the internal memory, even if you have selected a Flash RAM card as the default storage. Finally, there is the preference I did add. If you want to continue using GeekSafe in a smaller window, click the "Use full screen" to uncheck it.
This application will require a MessagePad running the Newton OS version 2.x. The application requires about 38KB of storage on your MessagePad.
